Valentine's Day Advice...How to Keep it Loverly

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY my dear dear readers. Now I know that many of you have plans this fine Hallmark Holiday...devoted to LOVE. I also know that many of you are at varying stages of your relationship whether it is with a beau/belle, betrothed, or a Mr./Mrs. Each stage carries varying degrees of excitement, hope, & expectation. Having lived through each of these stages here is my little bit of sage advice to keep your complete day Loverly.

Beau /Bell Stage

Keep the day light & fun. You are in one of the easiest stages of a relationship, & the most exciting! There should be no pressure here except to have a romping good time at the end of the night. But that will change if...

You start asking about marriage, especially if it's been a point of contention. Put the "where are we going" talks aside. Enjoy pleasurable company & be pleasurable company. Don't try to over impress. They are spending Valentine's Day with you...you've sealed something in their heart. Bask in that fact, then have a romping good time.

Betrothed Stage

Do not talk about the wedding plans! They get more then their fair share of air time on other days. The plans are not going away nor is she/he (unless you keep talking about the plans).

Instead discuss the unlimited possibilities of your future together. Where you are going together, the plans for a home, & a life. Stare longingly into the eyes of your mate with your mind full of the fact that you cannot believe you got so lucky. Then have a romping good time.

Mr./Mrs. Stage

Try, try , try...you've learned lots of information about your mate (good & bad) & life is or has gotten more complex. Put it on hold. Just for today. No matter what, find a quite evening together (anywhere), sans kids, responsibilities, & knowledge. Have a very selective memory this fine day.

Remember what it was like to be at the Betrothed Stage. The dreams the plans. Now try, try, try some more. Recall that this stage is the best stage to be at. The luckiest! You have someone who decided to devote their life to you, not their perfection, but their life. Which is worth a whole lot more! You always have a built in date. Therefore, use this day for a date. Stare longingly into the eyes of your mate with your mind full of the fact that you cannot believe you got so lucky. Then have a romping good time.
